Welcome to the Counseling Center!

Hi! My name is Tanner Saxton and I am the school counselor for New Horizon Center. I am excited to be back again to join the Wolf Pack and to get to know you all throughout this year!

My vision as a school counselor is for every student to be aware of the resources available through the counseling center and enhance their skills and knowledge for postsecondary success; be it in furthering their education, entering the workforce, or becoming part of an Idaho legacy of strong military servicemen and women.

My hope is, that as students are given a nonjudgmental, compassionate space to share their goals and challenges, they may become empowered to act as self-advocates, establish healthy social relationships, and develop strong personal and academic skills that will be of lifelong service to them.

I look forward to answering any questions you may have and am available to contact via email (saxtonta@sd25.us) or by phone (208-237-2233 ext. 163) or you are welcome to come visit at the office!

Check out the Scholarships page to view local and state opportunities!

Our February 11 Education as Power event was a wild success! We are grateful to our sponsors Portneuf Education Foundation, JR Simplot Education Council and Idaho State University for helping us make it happen. We are excited to announce 3 recipients of the Road Scholarship, which were awarded at the event. They are Celine Jett, Alicia Taylor and John Haight.
