Behavior Interventionist named as District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month
The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month P.I.E.S. award recognizes employees who Positively Influence Educational Success. The award is for employees who go above and beyond in that effort.
Jennifer Senecker, Behavior Interventionist at Indian Hills Elementary School, received several nominations for the April PIES Award recognizing her outstanding contributions to the school community. Each nomination submitted highlights Jennifer’s consistent support for both learners and staff.
Ms. Curzon shared that Jennifer’s calm, reassuring presence has become a vital support at Indian Hills. Whether through thoughtful gestures, listening, or words of encouragement, she helps foster a positive and trusting environment. Her work with learners—particularly in providing a calm space for de-escalation—helps them return to learning with confidence.
Colleagues emphasized Jennifer’s proactive and practical approach to behavior intervention. Ms. Balmer noted her ability to support both teachers and students effectively without enabling, using strategies such as scheduled brain breaks, regulation techniques, and collaborative problem-solving to improve outcomes.
Over the past eight years, Jennifer has been a key part of the school community. Ms. Higgins described her use of individualized behavior strategies and positive reinforcement, as well as her initiative in promoting a positive school culture—such as organizing a way for students and staff to share uplifting messages displayed daily in the cafeteria.
Mrs. Bull highlighted Jennifer’s experience, calm demeanor, and willingness to step in whenever needed. Kindergarten teacher Ms. Smith shared examples of behavior plans and social skill groups Jennifer has led, noting the impact they’ve had on student success and classroom dynamics.
Ms. Jorgensen added that Jennifer’s optimism and creativity contribute to a strong sense of support across the school. Her influence extends beyond individual behavior support—she helps create a culture where students and staff feel encouraged and connected.
Based on the detailed nominations from her colleagues, Jennifer’s professionalism, consistency, and dedication play a vital role in supporting a positive learning environment at Indian Hills.
Jennifer was recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 and received a $50 gift card from the educational partner for this award, Lookout Credit Union.
