Counselor named as District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month P.I.E.S. award recognizes employees who Positively Influence Educational Success. The award is for employees who go above and beyond in that effort.

This month we recognized Mr. Ife Tabakece as April’s PIES Award recipient. Mr. Tabakece is the Counselor at Gate City Elementary School and was nominated by Mrs. Kallie Lopez who submitted nominations on two separate occasions.

In her first nomination, Mrs. Lopez wrote, “Ife is always positive and happy! He supports our students every day by tending to their mental health needs. He also helps our staff with our mental health needs! We all know that Mr. Ife's office is a safe place with no judgment. Students know that they are always welcome to come visit him. He is so uplifting, inspiring, and supportive. He really deserves this award!”

In her second nomination, Mrs. Lopez wrote, “I was having a problem with a student and asked Ife if he had any creative ideas to help me. He made time in the morning before students came to come check in with me and offered many ideas and support to approach this situation with a student. Mr. Ife came to talk to my class a separate time and was able to incorporate a lesson/chat about the exact issue I was having in class, without making anyone feel bad. He did it flawlessly and I am so thankful and grateful he was able to do that.”

Mr. Tabakece was recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and received a $50 gift card from the educational partner for this award, Lookout Credit Union.
