Dear Parent/Guardian(s) of District #25 Graduating Senior 2024 Class:

We are very proud of the accomplishments of the Class of 2024. Congratulations to graduates and parents for the hard work and commitment to education it takes to earn a high school diploma from the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District. It is our desire to celebrate your graduate on graduation day with a ceremony that has the appropriate dignity and respect.  Each graduating senior deserves to have his or her name read and heard clearly without having to compete with disorder and distraction. To ensure this is a meaningful event for the graduating 2024 class and their families, we have put together the following guidelines:

  • If you exit the ICCU Dome, re-entry will not be allowed.
  • No food, drink or backpacks will be permitted at the ICCU Dome.
  • Graduates and attendees will be exiting the ICCU Dome immediately following the ceremony.
  • Family and friends may cheer in support of their graduate as they cross the stage, but otherwise, are not allowed to disrupt graduation proceedings. No noise makers, such as air horns or cow bells, will be allowed.
  • Please ensure your graduate does not bring noise makers, inflatable items, squirt guns, silly string, signs, or other objects that will cause distraction and/or disruptions to the graduation ceremony. If the ceremony is continuously disrupted, it will be paused until a respectful atmosphere is restored.
  • As a reminder, per board policy, there should be no embellishments on the mortarboard (cap), with the exception of tribal beading around the edge of the mortarboard for federally recognized Native American students. Any item worn on the outside of the gown must be school issued or pre-approved.
  • Native American students who are members of a federally recognized tribe may wear traditional cultural and religious items inclusive of an eagle feather, and beaded items such as a necklace or medallion during graduation ceremonies.
  • Diploma covers will be handed to each graduate, but actual diplomas will not be available until student behavior has been reviewed.  Diplomas will be available for pickup at the schools, June 4th and 5th from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.  Any diplomas that have not been picked up after June 5th, 2024 will need to have arrangements made for pick up. Please contact your school to make pick up arrangements.
  • If your graduate will need a printed or mailed transcript, please order it prior to the end of the school year.

Thank you, in advance, for your help in creating a respectful and considerate atmosphere that honors the achievement of all graduates.

Respectfully,

Susan Pettit
