PCSD 25 Food Service Kitchen Manager named as District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month

The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25’s Employee-of-the-Month P.I.E.S. award recognizes employees who Positively Influence Educational Success. The award is for employees who go above and beyond in that effort. 

Ms. Christa Neifert is November’s PIES Award recipient. Ms. Neifert is the Central Kitchen Manager for the PCSD 25 Food Service Program.  She was nominated for this award by co-worker, David Dodd. 

In his nomination letter, Mr. Dodd wrote, “Christa consistently goes above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly—and not just in the Central Kitchen, which is a major responsibility on its own. To enhance the consistency and accuracy of food deliveries to the grade schools, she developed a new online ordering system for their use. This system has not only made their jobs easier but also streamlined the work for those of us who pull the orders and place them in the cages and on the carts. (The system has been so effective that Heather has adopted it for the secondary schools as well.) Additionally, to further reduce stress and improve accuracy and efficiency, Christa reorganized the cages and carts into a more user-friendly setup.

Last year, Christa dedicated many hours over several months to help a new field supervisor learn to perform her job more accurately and efficiently. She also supports other leaders. She has helped me improve my work in the warehouse, as well as that of my drivers, by teaching us computer-related skills and helping us all see the bigger picture. Despite her busy schedule, she always finds time to connect with her kitchen staff and welcome back former employees who stop by to visit. She is a vital part of PSNA. I started calling her ‘Sistah Christah’ because she feels more like family than just a co-worker. She makes everyone feel like that because that’s the kind of cool person she is.’"

Ms. Neifert was recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 and received a $50 gift card from the educational partner for this award, Lookout Credit Union.
