Tonight: PCSD 25 to Host Public Hearing on Enrollment and Attendance Area Changes
The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 (PCSD 25) is in the process of reviewing enrollment and attendance areas to address significant shifts in district-wide enrollment and ensure sustainable, high-quality educational opportunities for all learners.
As part of this process, PCSD 25 is hosting a public hearing tonight from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Pocatello High School Auditorium. Community members are encouraged to attend to provide input on the proposed changes
With declining enrollment impacting resources and operations, the district is proactively aligning staffing, facilities, and budgets to maintain fiscal health and continue serving the community effectively. The process is guided by principles of optimizing capacity, equitable access, minimizing disruptions, maintaining efficiency, and planning for future needs.
The hearing will begin with a 15-minute presentation from district administrators outlining the committee’s recommendations, budget considerations, and goals. The remainder of the meeting will be reserved for public comments. Patrons wishing to speak are encouraged to submit a request in advance at Request to Speak Form. The presentation, including proposed changes with enrollment and attendance area maps, may be reviewed prior to the meeting at: www.sd25.us/enrollment-areas. Patrons may also email feedback to feedback@sd25.us.
The district values community engagement and looks forward to collaborating with patrons to finalize solutions that best serve PCSD 25 learners and families.
Moving forward, the Board could potentially take action at the regular board meeting on Tuesday, January 21 in order to accommodate the timeline for implementing any changes for the 2025-2026 school year.
