Current Projects
Rebuilding Highland High School
In the early morning hours on Friday, April 21, 2023 a fire destroyed Highland High School's "D" wing including the cafeteria, band and choir classrooms and gymnasium.
In 2024, the Idaho Legislature passed a landmark bill projected to provide $43 million to the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District to fund facilities construction. The district will use this funding, in combination with insurance replacement settlement, to reconstruct Highland High School.
The district estimates the project will be completed by the fall of 2027.
Arches Addition
Arches is a transitional program that teaches a variety of skills to help learners with special needs, aged 18-21, become contributing adults.
The program focuses on moving these learners towards greater autonomy in the home, community, and workplace through the development of self-advocacy skills.
PV-TEC Remodel
Construction crews are currently remodeling the previous Allstate call center area for classrooms that will house programs ranging from culinary arts to welding to computer programming to fashion design and more.
Renovations of the facility began in October 2023, with overall plans to build more than a dozen new classrooms, reconfigure the building’s entrance, and add roughly 18,000 square feet to the building’s east side that will also house its welding program.
The District is planning to host a Grand Opening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting on May 1, 2025.
Outdoor Athletic Facilities
On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Board of Trustees approved a 5-year facilities plan recommended by PCSD 25’s Outdoor Athletics Facilities committee. The proposal approved by the Board of Trustees is a big-picture, committee-led project designed to address PCSD 25 facilities with a bold, clear vision for the future.
