What’s on my property tax bill?

How do I compute the property taxes on my home?

  1. First, the taxable value of the home is determined.
    • Appraised value: $325,000
    • Homeowners exemption: $125,000
    • Taxable value: $325,000 - $125,000 = $200,000
  2. The taxable value is then used to calculate the taxes on this home:

Bond vs. Levies

How do property taxes support a growing school district community?

Property taxes play a crucial role in supporting a growing school district community by providing essential funding for various educational needs. These taxes contribute to the construction and maintenance of school facilities, ensuring that there are enough classrooms and resources to accommodate increasing student enrollment. They also help pay for the salaries of teachers and staff, enabling the district to attract and retain qualified professionals. Additionally, property tax revenue supports the purchase of educational materials, technology, and extracurricular programs that enhance the learning experience.

Supporting levy and bond measures are not just an investment in educational facilities; they provide an opportunity for investment in the community's economic vitality. Every time we modernize our schools’ infrastructure, we build the capacity to create jobs, attract businesses, and elevate property values, laying the foundation for a prosperous future. PCSD 25 continues to pledge an unwavering commitment to stretch every taxpayer dollar as far as it will go as we work together to position PCSD 25 for a strong, successful future.
