Graduation

Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre stage with graduates and parents seated in the audience

WHAT TO EXPECT – Every reasonable effort will be made to hold commencement as planned, rain or shine, outdoors in the Portneuf Wellness Complex Amphitheater. In the event the ceremony is underway and interrupted by severe weather, graduates and guests must follow instructions as announced. Please share this information with any family or friends who plan to attend graduation.

Graduate/Guest Conduct

Although ceremonies are held offsite from school grounds, graduation ceremonies are PCSD 25 sanctioned events. As such, all guest and visitor conduct are expected to follow policies as outlined in the School Board Policy Manual. This includes the prohibition of weapons and tobacco/illegal substances. See Policy 7312/8502 - Prohibition of Weapons and 8500 - Student Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct.

Additional considerations:

  • No food, drink or backpacks will be permitted in the Amphitheater. Water is allowed.
  • Per Portneuf Wellness Complex policy, no lawn chairs are allowed in the Amphitheater. There is fixed seating in the Amphitheater for approximately 2100 guests. Additional seating is available on the grass with blankets only.
  • Family and friends may cheer in support of their graduate as they cross the stage, but otherwise, are not allowed to disrupt graduation proceedings. No noise makers, such as air horns or cow bells, will be allowed.
  • Please ensure your graduate does not bring noise makers, inflatable items, squirt guns, silly string, signs, or other objects that will cause distraction and/or disruptions to the graduation ceremony. If the ceremony is continuously disrupted, it will be paused until a respectful atmosphere is restored.
  • Idaho's weather can be unpredictable. This is an outdoor venue. Please plan ahead and dress according to the day's weather. LOCAL WEATHER CONDITIONS
