32711 Beginning Journalism A - 1 Trimester - HHS 9 10 11 12
(Seniors will be admitted with Instructor’s permission)
This course is an entry-level course, which provides instruction in the basic skills and techniques needed in the field of journalism. The content includes recognition of and writing news; development of editorials, sport articles, and feature stories; workshop experience in photography, layouts, advertising, printing, and other practical aspects of journalistic enterprise. 32761 Journalism I - 1 Trimester - HHS 9 10 11 12  
Prerequisite:  Beginning Journalism A
A course which provides students with actual hands-on experiences associated with publishing a newspaper: Highland Rampage. Writing, editing, photographic layout, desktop publishing, legal and ethical issues, and business management skills are emphasized. Students actually perform all the skills necessary to produce a school newspaper. Students pursue independently developed projects related to traditional print and online publishing – video clips and website. Students develop leadership skills necessary to meet deadline, manage staff members, and work with the community.

37762 Journalism II - 1 Trimester - HHS 9 10 11 12
Prerequisite: Journalism I
